The Challenge
As a design collective, we had the incredible opportunity to shape the visual identity and narrative for FOKUS Clan’s tournament presence in Cologne. Tasked with crafting a unique and immersive event experience, we set out to transform the competition into something more than just a tournament—we envisioned it as a high-stakes underground heist.
Working closely with the Concept and Content teams, we developed a cohesive design language that extended across every touchpoint, from announcement animations to event graphics. The challenge was immense: the tournament coincided with the signing of FOKUS’ new Valorant roster, meaning we had to produce a high volume of content under tight deadlines. This included dynamic player and coach announcement animations, as well as a cinematic reveal for the team’s participation in the event.
A standout aspect of the project was the integration of storytelling into the visuals. Beyond our usual roles in 3D animation and sound design, we took a hands-on approach to world-building—even going so far as to voice the “Crew Leader” character ourselves, using AI-assisted voice modulation to fully embody the heist theme.
The response from the community was overwhelming. Fans engaged deeply with the narrative, praising the seamless fusion of design, motion, and branding. While the competition on the field was fierce, the impact of our visuals extended far beyond the matches, reaching an international audience and solidifying FOKUS Clan’s presence in the scene.
This project was an intense yet rewarding ride—one that pushed our creative boundaries and reinforced our passion for immersive event design.
